Lucy Brakewell
LLB (Nottingham Trent, 1994) · Qualified 1997
Lucy graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1994 and qualified as a solicitor in 1997. Over the next 28 years she developed deep expertise in criminal defence — from initial police-station representation through to Crown Court trial advocacy.
Before founding LB Solicitors, Lucy held an equity partnership at a leading East Anglian criminal-law firm for a decade, building a reputation for direct, honest representation and tireless commitment to her clients.
She founded LB Solicitors to offer something many larger firms can no longer give: direct, personal access to a senior criminal solicitor at every stage of a case, day or night.
Outside work: gardening, Formula 1 and dining out.

Kirsty Chaplin
LLB First Class Honours (University of Law)
Kirsty joined LB Solicitors in Spring 2024 after qualifying and practising at a leading Nottingham firm. She holds a first-class honours degree from the University of Law.
During her studies she volunteered at Nottingham Magistrates' Court supporting vulnerable defendants, work for which she was recognised with the Provost award.
Kirsty brings a calm, methodical approach to case preparation and a particular commitment to clients facing the courts for the first time.
Outside work: reading, football, drawing, animation and coding.
